The project has received its funding from the Swedish Council for Research in the Humanities and Social Sciences, HSFR: Research on Culture and Society in West and Central Asia. Recently, the Council has been reorganised and now forms a part of the Swedish Research Council.

 
The associated project Minority Languages in Georgia involves research cooperation between the Department of Linguistics in Lund and the Chikobava Institute of Linguistics at the Georgian Academy of Sciences in Tbilisi.  It has been funded by the Royal Swedish Academy ofSciences.
